Just Another Manic Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. This Saturday Keith and I had our date night and finally saw Despicable Me. The movie was great, but what really got my attention was the theater. We didn't originally plan on going to this particular one, and in fact it took a good 20 minutes for us to figure out what was going on. We went to a place called Cinebarre. It's basically a bar and theater, and they serve food. Like real food (pizza, hamburgers, cheesesticks, etc.) and you can order and eat at your seat in the theater!

For our next date night we'll be heading to Cinebarre for both dinner and a movie.

2. What in the heck happened to Lucas and Peyton?!?!? (Note: Spoilers for those who have not seen past Season 6) Keith and I have been watching One Tree Hill and began with my favorite, Season 5. This season fast forwarded to 4 years after high school and is full of drama, heartache, love, and inspiration.
We watched Season 5 and 6 via Netflix and decided to buy the first episode of Season 7 on iTunes. Well, let me tell you that we were completely caught off guard when Lucas and Peyton never showed up. They both just vanished. The writers did a terrible job at explaining what happened to the characters, but according to Google there was contract issues or something like that. How can you have OTH without Lucas and Peyton? It just does not make sense, and Keith and I are officially done watching. We don't even care about what happens to the rest of them. (Even though I love B. Davis) I know I'm a few years late in discovering this, but still. Any of you guys know the truth about why these two characters are gone?

3. I've been reading a book called Redeeming Law about the "Christian calling and the legal profession". In it, the author Michael Schutt quotes a student prayer from 1765 before the actual study of law. It's absolutely beautiful, and being a prospective law student, this is something I've been praying every day.

Almighty God, the giver of
wisdom, without whose help
resolutions are vain, without
whose blessing study is
ineffectual, enable me, if it
be thy will, to attain such
knowledge as may qualify me
to direct the doubtful, and
instruct the ignorant, to
prevent wrongs, and
terminate contentions; and
grant that I may use that
knowledge which I shall
attain, to Thy glory, and my
own salvation; for Jesus
Christ's sake. Amen.

-Dr. Samuel Johnson via David Hoffman

4. I have the strongest urge to hop on a plane and fly to Italy. Today.

I'm definitely passing on that book to my brother...he's in his 2nd year of law school as a Christian...I'm sure he'd get some good out of reading something like that!

WOW, I would love to have a theater like that where I live. How fun!

I used to watch OTH all the time with my daughter. Not anymore. I can't figure out where everyone was disappearing too.

Would love to be in Hawaii right now!

Hi Lindsey! I followed your link from Carissa's blog. That theater is awesome! We have a balcony in one of our theaters here in Wichita that serves food and cocktails and such but I've never gone up there! That looks like a fun way to watch a movie. I thought Despicable Me was cute too (I saw it at a Drive in!).

Nice to meet you.

Aww, I saw Despicable Me over the weekend & it was so sweet! When he read the book that he had written, I'll admit that a few tears came to my eyes :)

Pisa is wonderful! An Cinque Terre too! Venice is a place I'd love to see. But right now, more than anything I would like my husband home with me! ♥
