forever could never be long enough

I recently discovered this song by Train. It's called "Marry Me" and it's one of the last songs our wedding guests will hear before the ceremony starts. I couldn't resist sharing it before Keith and I actually say "I do". :o)

60%

That is, 60% chance of rain on my wedding day. Grrrr. I just saw this and to be honest I felt like someone punched me in the stomach. On the bright side, we are still over a week away and the weather can change in an instant. I'll just keep praying for a nice, sunny day! On second thought, after seeing these pictures, maybe rain won't be so bad afterall! :o) I also found out that it’s good luck! In italian “Sposa bagnata, sposa fortunata” or A wet bride is a lucky bride. Regardless, I get to marry KC in NINE days! Meep Meep!

hooneymooning with the YANKEES!

I would just like to say that I have the best fiancé in the whole wide world! Not only will we be spending a week together at the happiest place on earth, but we will also be attending an Atlanta Braves/New York Yankees baseball game!!! Did I mention that we'll be sitting on the third row behind the Yankee dugout?? Best. Fiancé. Ever. :oD

le dress mess

On Wednesday I had my final fitting for my wedding dress. I was really excited about this appointment because if all goes well, I would get to take my dress home with me. My biggest concern was that we would not be able to zip the dress. When I went to my first appointment the alterations lady pinned the dress super tight, and between that and my ever fluctuating weight I was certain this would be a toss up.

The good news is that the dress fits. The bad news is that I feel like a stuffed sausage. :o( Maybe that's not the right term. Hmmm....I feel like a hot dog? Lol I don't really know what to compare it to, but it's not good and I can hardly breathe. The dress looks fine, it's just the backstage stuff that's not okay. I'm glad that the dress fits tightly around my top because I definitely do not want to be pulling it up all day, but at the same time being able to breathe would be nice. I love my dress and I think it's beautiful, but I'm just hoping on the day I marry my best friend I feel comfortable and confident and have not a worry in the world. I really think that I am just having a bridal freak out and that it's not as bad as it seems. Regardless of if I get to breathe or not, in a few weeks I will be marrying my best friend. :o)

Since I can't exactly show you guys my dress, I went on picnik.com and blurred out the picture so that I could post some sort of teaser. I couldn't resist!!!

the weather outside is frightful?!

When I heard that it was going to snow (again!) in Louisiana last week I was a bit jealous. My first thought was "Go figure. I move and the Saints win the Superbowl and it snows TWICE this year!" I only had a few days to envy my home state, because on Friday night it not only snowed here in Charleston, but we got nearly 5"!!!! The last time I played in snow was two years ago around Christmas time with Matthew and Micah. This time I was with Keith and boy did we have a fun time playing outside! I really do love the sporadic appearances that snow makes, but oh am I glad that I don't have to deal with it on a daily basis. I am hoping that it will warm up soon...especially since my outdoor wedding is only a few weeks away!!

better late than never

On May 11, 2009 Keith proposed to me in the living room of my apartment. On January 23, 2010 we took our engagement pictures. A part of me wishes we had taken them during the summer and closer to our actual engagement, but I am so happy that we waited. We spent the day downtown with Alexa (she is seriously AMAZING!) and had the best time. We will definitely treasure these photos for the rest of our lives. Here are just a few of the pictures that I'm in love with! It's so hard to pick just one to call my favorite! :o)

a february shower

This past weekend Vanessa and Susan (aka my awesome co-workers) threw me a Bridal Shower. When they first started planning we had discussed if I wanted a regular shower or something different. Since Keith and I have nearly two of everything for our home, I chose to have a lingerie shower. I figure this would be a great time to stock up on sexy married lady outfits. :o) I have to admit that I was quite embarrassed by certain presents, but all in all it was terribly fun. I received some beautiful things and I am just so grateful for all of the love and kindness I felt at this shower. To my co-workers, friends, and future in-laws, thank you guys so very much for making me feel like Charleston is home.

the path i've chosen

For a while now I've been questioning what I am doing with my educational career. Since I first began school in 2007 I have switch majors about 3 times. I think this is pretty normal, but being that I am about to begin my Junior year it is a little more difficult to change my mind. (Apparently I am on the 6 year plan.) My most recent major was English. I want/wanted to become a teacher. In the state of South Carolina I can become certified through a program called ABCTE and the only major requirement is to have a bachelor's degree. So basically I can major in anything I'd like and still become a teacher.

I recently decided what I want to earn my degree in. Before I tell you, I'd like to say that I have not a clue what I would do in this field (because I'd like to be home with my family) but I feel in my heart that it's the right thing to do. I may still become a teacher or maybe the Lord will open a door for me to use what I've learned at Regent. Well, here goes nothing...

I have officially switched my major to Criminal Justice. I don't plan on becoming a police officer or crime scene investigator, but I just feel like this is what I need to be learning about. I am always ranting and raving about innocent lives being stolen and I figure this could be a way for me to really do something about it. Whether I end up teaching, in politics, in a courtroom, or whatever else there is out there, switching to this major makes me feel like I've found my purpose. Only God knows what the future holds, and I am going to trust Him 100%.

WHO DAT?!?!?

We did it!!!!! The New Orleans Saints have defeated the Indianapolis Colts to win THE SUPERBOWL. I repeat, the SAINTS ARE THE SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONS!!!!!

I am so consumed by the happiness I am feeling from this win!!! The Saints have electrified the city of New Orleans and the people of Louisiana! And while I wish I could have been back home to celebrate with my family and friends I am still literally jumping with joy here with KC. Even though he was sick, he was still a good sport!

BLESS YOU BOYS!!!!!

i have a son

Two years ago I began sponsoring a child through Compassion. His name is Wilkemberg and he's 9 years old from Brazil. I'd like to say that we "met" by chance, but I don't believe in coincidences. I was at a Christian music festival in New Orleans and Compassion representatives were there handing out packets. I received mine and instantly felt connected to this beautiful little boy. I receive letters from him on a pretty regular basis, but today's letter was different. Today my sweet boy referred to himself as my sponsored son. :o) There are no words to describe the joy I felt when I read those words. I'd like to share with y'all his letter and a picture that he drew for me.

Dear sponsor Lindsey. I'm so happy, I took an outing with the project, it was so nice. I like Luke 18:27. The impossible for men are possible to God. I'm learning English with an American teacher, I'm loving the project, the school front is beautiful, how are you? I'm fine. You look beautiful in that photo. My favorite sport is soccer. From your sponsored son Wilkemberg. Happy Birthday and a good wedding. Be happy! Many Kisses.

If you are able to sponsor a child, I highly recommend it. Check out www.compassion.com for more information.
